This very passionate embroidery artwork is a real charm – it is hand sewn by artistic Miao Ladies (or called Hmong, same rooted) living in the remote mountainous Southwest China. Miao embroidery has high artistic value and enjoys good fame worldwide. Images are usually abstracted from surroundings such as flowers, birds and animals, along with imaginary figures from tales or myths. Through artistic abstraction, images and colors are bravely exaggerated and deformed, making it an exceptional artwork with full aboriginal flavor.
In 2006, Chinese government aligned with United Nation UNESCO heritage policy, accredited Miao Embroidery an Intangible Cultural Heritage, recognizing its contribution on cultural diversity and human creativity, and safeguarding this human treasure to be kept alive.
“Miao ladies enjoy using colorful silk threads to compose lively embroidery artworks, making them look bright, vivid and passionate!”
