About the Artist: Liu Rui Zhao, aged 57 of Hu County Shaanxi origin, began to learn art from two peasant painting pioneers Ding Ji Tang and Liu Qun Han at the age of 18. Although his first profession was a soldier, he put much of his leisure time in practicing art, and had his first exhibition in Beijing in 1974. He eventually became a full time artist In 1993, and put his focus on peasant painting. He is a member of Shaanxi Artist Association, and his works have been published frequently in many mainstream publications, especially those featuring peasant painting art.
