This very elegant and sophisticated 100% fine cotton batik is a fabric art handcrafted by a Chinese artisan who excels in both Chinese traditional art and indigo batik. Indigo batik, using natural indigo plant for dye materials, is one of the oldest art form in China. It has been a sign of refinement in China since the Zhou Dynasty (BC 770 - BC 403). At that time many wealthy households appointed artisans to design beautiful patterns for home furnishing purpose. Nowadays indigo batik seems to be revitalized again, where you will find many Japanese and European households are having them as integral part of their home décor.
